a fictional book, a nonfictional book
A fictional book: Stargirl by Jerry Spinelli
This is one book I judged by it’s cover. I mean, it was clean, blue and had a girl with a star. The cleanliness and simplicity attracted me.. and the story line itself was simple, too.. And when I say I judged it by its cover, I thought it was going to be good. But the truth is it didn’t really go through me at all. Waste.
A nonfictional book: Go Ask Alice. by Anonymous.
Apparently, it’s a true story. I read it when I was 13— I forget what grade. The weird thing is, I didn’t know what the journal author meant when she spoke about acid and “getting back on the pill” and terms like that. I didn’t really understand the eating disorders and the problems she went through.. so I want to reread it again this summer if I get the chance.
